Making Tracks is a creative music programme run by the Irene Taylor Trust for young people. It usually consists of a taster session, an intensive week-long project, a series of follow-on sessions and personal development support.
Since 2012, Making Tracks has expanded from being based only in Lambeth, to bringing projects to Newham, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets, Hammersmith & Fulham, Croydon, Kent, Bristol and Manchester.
The intensive project gives young people the chance to explore music-making by working together to create a new band and write original songs. As well as performing live, the tracks are recorded for a CD with specially designed artwork and to stream online on the Making Tracks Soundcloud page. Most projects offer the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award.
After taking part in Making Tracks, our Projects & Progression Coordinator offers support onto other creative and training opportunities, including our own progression projects Young Producers and Young Workshop Leader Training.
This site is intended for use by Making Tracks participants to find out more, share their experiences, enjoy music created on the projects and keep updated.
